Soontra's document editor is a real writing space built into your Drive. Draft your scripts, outlines, and posts next to the footage they belong to, invite people in to write with you, and let Astrono suggest edits you approve with one click.
Everything saves automatically as you type, so a closed tab or a flaky connection never costs you a paragraph.
Create a document
Create a document right inside your Drive — no separate app needed. You get everything you'd expect from a good word processor: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, headings, bullet and numbered lists, checklists, quotes, links, highlights, and your choice of font and size. Add tables and drop in images right where you want them, and search the whole document and replace text in one pass.
Your work is laid out in real pages, with margins, so a script reads the way it will look — not as one endless scroll. Built-in spellcheck catches typos as you go.
Live cursors and presence
When a second person opens the same doc, it turns into a shared space. You can both edit at once, you both see the same words update in real time, and you can tell who is where by their cursor. There's nothing to set up — presence just works the moment a collaborator arrives.
Comment on any passage
Leave comments pinned to a specific line or passage, so feedback stays attached to the words it's about instead of floating in a separate thread. This is where script debates belong: both of you in the doc, cursors visible, comments on the exact lines in question. Mentions and threads work the same way as everywhere else in Soontra — see Comments and mentions.
Accept or reject Astrono's proposals
Ask Astrono to tighten a paragraph, expand a section, or rewrite an intro, and instead of silently changing your words, it shows you exactly what it wants to do. New text shows up in green. Anything it wants to remove shows up in red with a line through it — like a careful editor handing back your draft with suggested changes marked.
You stay in control of every change:
- Click any suggestion to accept or reject just that one.
- Or accept the whole batch at once if you like where it went.
- Approve a change and it's in; pass on it and it disappears.
Your draft is never touched without your go-ahead. More on working with Astrono in docs and projects in Astrono in comments and projects.
Import and export Markdown
Documents speak Markdown in both directions. Import a Markdown file to keep working on it in Soontra, and when you're done, download your doc as a Word file, a Markdown file, or plain text — ready to send out or use anywhere else.
