The first time you sign in, a short guided setup walks you through building your workspace. It's a guided walk, not a form dump — by the time you finish, you have a place to put your work and a feel for what Soontra can do.
Nothing here is permanent. Almost everything you set in the wizard can be changed later from Settings, so move quickly and refine as you go.
The eight steps at a glance
The standard flow runs eight steps, in this order:
- Set up your profile — your name and photo.
- Update your workspace — name and icon for your workspace.
- Configure project stages — the columns on your planning board.
- Index your files — a hands-on demo of AI search.
- Get more context — teach Astrono your brand.
- Select your plan — pick a tier or start a trial.
- Add payment method — card capture.
- Done — a thank-you screen, then your workspace.
Profile, workspace, and project stages
The first two steps set your name, photo, and workspace name — Soontra suggests a workspace name based on your first name if you leave it blank.
The project-stages step lays out your planning board. It starts with five default stages — Scripting, Filming, Editing, Review, Ready — and you can rename them, recolor them, add your own, or remove ones you don't need. These defaults are fully editable, both here and later. See Plan with flows for how stages drive your board.
The indexing demo and brand context
Watch Soontra find a moment
The indexing step is the product doing the actual thing before you've uploaded anything of your own. You drag in sample footage and watch Soontra find a specific moment inside a video from a plain-English request — so you instantly understand what indexing buys you.

Pick a plan and add payment
First-time creators can start a 7-day free trial on the Starter plan; you can also pick a paid plan right away. The trial requires a card, and your card is charged on day 7 for the plan you picked. You can cancel anytime during the trial, and Soontra emails you 24 hours before the charge so nothing catches you off guard. See Free trial for details.
Joining someone else's workspace
If you arrived from a teammate's invite, setup is shorter: you set up your profile and see the demos, then land inside their existing workspace instead of building a new one. Invitees skip the workspace, stages, plan, and payment steps entirely — billing belongs to the workspace owner.
Change it later in Settings
Everything the wizard touches lives in Settings afterwards: your profile, workspace name and icon, project stages, plan, and payment method. You can even replay the whole intro from Settings → Workspace — restarting onboarding re-runs the profile step and demos and re-arms the guided tour, with no charge and no changes to your billing.
