Getting into Soontra takes seconds. You can create an account with an email and password, sign in with Google, or skip the password entirely with a one-tap magic link sent to your email.
The first time you join, Soontra asks you to confirm your email by clicking a link it sends you. It's a quick check that the address is really yours, and it happens only once.
Three ways to sign in
Email and password
Type your email and password and you're in. Password sign-in is protected by a Turnstile captcha, which quietly verifies you're a person without making you solve puzzles.
Tap the Google button and approve the sign-in on Google's own page. Your Google password is never typed into Soontra.
Magic link
Would rather not deal with a password at all? Enter your email and ask for a sign-in link. Soontra emails you a link that signs you in with one tap — no password required.
Reset a forgotten password
If you've forgotten your password, use the reset flow at /forgot-password (also linked from the sign-in screen):
- Enter the email address on your account.
- Check your inbox for a reset link.
- Follow the link and choose a new password.
For your privacy, Soontra gives the same reply whether or not that email has an account, so the reset form never confirms to a stranger which addresses are registered. If no email arrives, double-check the address you entered.
To change your password later from inside the app, Soontra asks for your current password first — so someone at your unlocked screen can't quietly take over. See Account security and deletion for the details.
How lockout protection works
Soontra's sign-in is built to keep the wrong people out without getting in your way. If someone tries to guess a password over and over, Soontra slows them down and then locks password sign-in for that account for a short while, so a stranger can't just keep hammering at it.
Two things to know if you ever hit a lockout on your own account:
- Google and magic-link sign-in keep working during a password lockout. If you're locked out and need in right now, use one of those instead.
- The lockout is temporary. Wait a little while and password sign-in will work again — or reset your password if you suspect the failed attempts weren't yours.
